Beginning Weight: 370 pounds
Height: 5' 2"
What do you do when you need to lose over 200 pounds of weight but you are happy with who you are and the life you lead?
I am 66 years old so I don't have the motivation of wearing a bikini. I am not ashamed of the way I look. I don't feel I am missing out on life. I have never been concerned with other peoples' opinion of me. My health has always been poor.
QUESTION
How do I give up a life of peace and tranquility for two-plus years of angst and frustration without a purpose and a plan.
PROBLEM
Too FAT to donate my body for research. Too FAT to be cremated, and too EXPENSIVE to be buried.
PURPOSE
Lose weight so I can donate my whole body for research.
PLAN
Turn my weight loss journey into a project.
ACTION TAKEN
Started blogging about my weight loss journey.
Added pre-made salads to my grocery list.
Added individual sized V8 juice cans to my grocery list.
Read inspirational weight loss stories.
PROBLEM
I do not put any thought or effort into me.
PLAN
Revamp my bedroom to include a makeup vanity and feminine decor.
ACTION TAKEN
Researched window treatments on Pinterest and Youtube.
Found a desk (from another part of the house) to use as my vanity.
Purchased a chair and makeup mirror for my vanity.
Rearranged bedroom furniture.
Added curtains and pictures to my bedroom.
PROBLEM
My clothes are old and dull or too uncomfortable to wear.
PLAN
Convert my craft room into a sewing room so I can revamp my outdated, ill fitting clothes into a personalized, trendy wardrobe.
ACTION TAKEN
Added a board on Pinterest called Sewing Room
Viewed and saved pins to my Sewing Room Board on Pinterest which inspired and motivated me to convert my craft room into a sewing room.

WHAT I NOTICED TODAY
While making out my grocery list I had no problem leaving chips and candy off the list!
September 16, 2017
It's been about two weeks since starting my weight loss journey, and I am doing great!
ACTION TAKEN
The bedroom makeover is coming along... I have purchased and assembled my vanity chair. Before I assembled the chair I re-upholstered the seat cushion... elevating the boring white, flat, fabric into a textured, deep purple, velvet! The textured part is... I left the wrinkles in the fabric! Looks great!
Secondly, I purchased my vanity mirror. I made sure the mirror and the chair both had copper and bronze tones so they would match... they match beautifully!
To coordinate the vanity with the rest of the room I ordered a table runner from a bridal website. The runner has a sheer white background with the most exquisite deep purple embroidery. The runner will match the sheer, floor- to-ceiling, deep purple and beige pocket curtains I am installing.
Another remodel I did to the bedroom is I removed the curtains that were hiding a beautiful, round, window. The sunlight from the window shined directly in my eyes every morning... so I threw a curtain up to keep out the sun. Only problem is this blocked the beauty of the window.
I replaced the obstructive curtain with a multicolored, geometric-patterned, fabric. I cut the fabric into a circle the size of the window and used liquid starch to attach the fabric to the window. It looks fantastic and at the same time keeps the sun out of my eyes. Best of all the architecture of the window can now be seen!
SOMETHING I HAVE NOTICED
For the first time in my entire life... I AM THINKING ABOUT ME.
WOW... that revelation brought tears to my eyes.
On a lighter side, I noticed I am getting excited about makeup, jewelry and clothes!
PLAN
Once the bedroom is completed I am going to create my Sewing room.
Once my Sewing room is operational I am going to revamp my old, boring wardrobe into hot, trendy, blingy fashion!!
Once my vanity is functional I am going to go crazy collecting nail polish in all the many rainbow colors. I also love glitter polish, nail art stickers and rhinestones!!
ACTION TAKEN
I have been, researching, watching videos and pinning to my Pinterest boards:
1) Nail Art Tutorials
2) Revamping old clothes
3) Best makeup to buy
4) Storage solutions for make up, jewelry, nail polish and sewing rooms
SUMMARY
These past few weeks have been so much fun that eating the right food has been an "afterthought".
The best thing I have done for myself, grocery wise, is I added the following to my grocery list:
1) Individual-sized, pre-made salad kits (fork included)
2) Tiny, pull-top cans of V-8 juice
3) Frozen fruit
4) Frozen, steam-in-the bag vegetables
These purchases make meal preparation a breeze.

WEIGHT LOST: 8 lbs
370 # beginning weight
362 # 2 weeks on journey
SOMETHING I HAVE NOTICED
Because my focus is on me... not "the diet"... I am amazed at the amount of weight I have lost. I actually forgot I was trying to lose weight!
PROBLEM
The cost of eating well is terribly expensive.
HOWEVER... keeping the fridge well stocked it vital to my losing weight.
PLAN
1) Eventually reduce food portions so food lasts longer and costs less.
2) Summer is ending soon so electric bill will decrease.
3) Only purchases will be:
a) food
b) household expenses
c) hair cuts
d) weely lunch w/ Sister
e) lunch w/o friends
4) Continue paying off credit cards
5) Pray for a terrific roommate.
PROBLEM
Went crazy today... all I could think about was FOOD.
Wanted so badly to order a pizza, or Chinese, or a Hugh bowl of buttered pop corn, extra large coke and watch movies all day.
PLAN
1) Watch movies all day
2) Binge on healthy food
ACTION TAKEN
1) Watched romance movies all day
2) Binged on chicken salad with crackers, orange juice, tons of water, banana, V-8 and Hugh bowl of popcorn... no butter.
SOMETHING I NOTICED
After two weeks without junk food... popcorn tastes marvelous... without butter.
UPDATE
Bedroom makeover should be done by tomorrow!
